AAU Participates in the Organization and Events of the 6th Hearing Health Conference in Morocco

In cooperation with the Arab Audio-vestibular Academy and the German University of Lübeck, AAU held the “Sixth Hearing Health Conference 2018” under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in Marrakesh, Morocco. Dr. Ghaleb Erekat, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences and Director of Admissions and Registration Department represented AAU on behalf of Prof. Sari Hamdan, the AAU President. In the Conference, Dr. Ghaleb delivered the AAU speech and talked about the University participation in holding this conference for the sixth consecutive year. He noted that the last four conferences were held in Amman, Jordan, under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Muna Al-Hussein. In his speech, Dr. Ghaleb stated that the Hearing & Speech Specialization which the University offered since 2005 provided the Jordanian and Arab labor markets with more than 1,000 graduates holding the Bachelor's Degree in Hearing and Speech. He also highlighted the great role which the University plays through its free service as reflected by the Hearing and Speech Center. The Center provides these services to the local community people, residents and refugees. Moreover, this Center provides diagnostic and therapeutic services in addition to services offered to more than 5000 cases during the past years. The center also offers hearing and balance examination and diagnosis in addition to installing free of charge medical earphones for people who cannot afford them, especially children. Also, Dr. Erekat has invited the Seventh Conference 2019 to be held at AAU. Furthermore, Dr. Mohamed El Masry, Head of the Hearing & Speech Department, Secretary General of the Arab Audio-vestibular Academy and Dr. Fadi Najem from the Department of Hearing & Speech participated in the conference sessions. More than forty research papers were discussed in the conference which witnessed the participation of researchers from more than thirty countries (America, Europe, Asia and the Arab countries).
