AAU Participates in the Launch of the 2024 Global English Language Olympiad for Universities

Under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Azmi Mohafazah, our AAU, represented by President Professor Sari Hamdan, participated in the launch event of the 2024 Global English Language Olympiad for Universities at the Kempinski Hotel, Amman. The event was organized in collaboration between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Masa International Testing Company. The event was attended by Dr. Mamoun Al-Dab'i, Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, representing the event’s patron, His Excellency Dr. Amr Salama, Secretary General of the Arab Universities Union, as well as several presidents of Jordanian public and private universities and a number of Arab cultural attachés and advisors in Amman. The Global English Language Olympiad for Universities is a significant global event that will be hosted in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan from December 5-7, 2024, under the theme "National Heritage." The ministry aims for the event to be exceptional, showcasing Jordan and its higher education institutions and leaving a distinctive impression on all participants regarding Jordan’s educational and tourist attractions. Our AAU is one of the sponsors of this Olympiad and will be participating with two teams of university students. Through its active participation, the university seeks to reinforce its role as a leading educational institution in supporting global academic initiatives. The Olympiad will feature 48 teams from 24 Jordanian higher education institutions, along with participation from numerous teams from Arab and foreign countries, highlighting the event’s significance and drawing global universities’ attention to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan as the host of this significant event.
