AAU Participates in the First Sports Conference for Islamic Scientific College Schools

Our AAU participated in the First Sports Conference for Islamic Scientific College Schools, held under the patronage of HRH Princess Aya Bint Al-Faisal and themed "Towards a Promising Athletic Generation." The university was represented by the Department of Physical and Health Education from the Faculty of Educational Sciences. In his opening address, Prof. Sari Hamdan, Vice President of the Jordan Olympic Committee and our university President, emphasized the importance of this conference in providing physical education teachers and students with knowledge and information that enhance their skills and keep them updated on the latest advancements in sports sciences. He highlighted the importance of pride in the profession of physical education teaching, especially as sports grow as a significant economic sector both locally and globally. He also stressed the essential role of physical education in cultivating an educated athletic generation, moving away from traditional teaching and recognizing physical education as a core subject with educational resources and graded assessments. HRH Princess Aya Bint Al-Faisal visited Al-Ahliyya Amman University's booth in the exhibition held alongside the conference, which featured numerous universities and sports-related companies. Students Mundher Al-Wahsh and Hazem Saya from the Department of Physical and Health Education briefed her and the attendees on the founding of the Faculty of Educational Sciences and the Department of Physical and Health Education, which is the first of its kind among private Jordanian universities. They discussed its role in promoting advanced physical and health education and in graduating top teachers and coaches who are now working in various sectors. The students also presented the university’s efforts to attract top Jordanian athletes, offering them scholarships to pursue bachelor's or master's degrees as part of the university's commitment to supporting this exceptional group of national champions. Additionally, the students participated in several conference sessions that focused on sports sciences and their practical applications.
