AAU Participates in the First Edition of the Makers' Forum
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, in collaboration with the Faculty of Architecture and Design at our AAU, participated in the inaugural Makers' Forum. This event is one of the flagship initiatives of the Crown Prince Foundation under the "Makerspace" program, designed to support and enhance youth skills in industry and creativity. A selection of exceptional projects by Interior Design students from the faculty was showcased during the event.
The students presented innovative projects developed as part of their coursework in the "Model Making" class, supervised by Dr. Dana Amro, and the "Furniture Design and Accessories" class, supervised by Dr. Zein Maghaireh. These projects demonstrated creativity and innovation, incorporating advanced techniques in model and furniture design while adhering to environmental sustainability standards.
The students' works blended modernity with tradition by using eco-friendly and sustainable materials, emphasizing the preservation of Jordanian cultural identity. Some projects focused on employing recycled materials and innovative technological production methods that minimize environmental impact, reflecting contemporary trends in sustainable interior design.
The event was held at Al-Hussein Sports City on Saturday, November 9, 2024, and was attended by a diverse audience of academics, industry professionals, and experts in design and innovation.
The showcased projects received wide acclaim, highlighting the students’ ability to merge technology and art in functional and aesthetically pleasing designs that align with the latest trends in interior design.
