AAU Participates in the Coordination Meeting of the Deans of Student Affairs at Jordanian Universities in the Anti-Narcotics Department

On Wednesday, 23/1/2019 AAU participated in the coordination meeting of the Deans of Student Affairs at the Jordanian universities to discuss activating the role of university youth and raising their awareness of the dangers of drugs in the building of the Anti-Narcotics Department/Al-Yasmin. The Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, Brigadier Anwar Tarawneh and Assistant Director of Public Security for Criminal Security Brigadier Muhammad Al-Malahim attended this meeting. The meeting was also attended by the representative of the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research Awni Tbeishat and Deans of Student Affairs from various public and private universities. Brigadier Muhamed Al-Malahim said that drugs are a threat to our youth as the most targeted group by people trying to spread this deadly poison. Al-Malahim stressed that the Directorate of Public security focuses on the preventive and awareness-raising aspects of the society members through the Anti-Narcotics Department and other units of the Public Security. He also noted that university students are the most influential group in the community and their energies to counter drugs must be exploited. On his turn, The Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, Brigadier Anwar Tarawneh, highlighted briefly the achievements of the Department and statistics of the issues of trafficking, promotion and drug abuse. This meeting discussed the causes of the spread of drugs and the methods of prevention and stressed the activation of the role of Jordanian youth in supporting the efforts of public security men in this regard.It is worth mentioning that the meeting was also attended by Dr. Issa Al-Alawneh, the Deputy Dean of Student Affairs and Mr. Ahmed Ghazi Al Shloul / the Office of Career Guidance & Follow-up Graduates.
