AAU Participates in the Celebration of the “World Sight Day” Held at Ibn Al-Haytham Hospital

The AAU Optics Department of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences participated in the Celebration of the “World Sight Day” under the slogan “Sight First” which was held at Ibn Al-Haytham Hospital on Thursday, 10/10/2019. This event is a global initiative of the World Council for Fighting Blindness. It aims to increase community awareness of visual problems and to find ways to solve them. The Optics Department was represented by Dr. Yazan Qamwah, the Optometrist and the Head of the Department along with the Oculist Dr. Bahaa El-Din Jabr. During this event, Dr. Qamwah and Dr. Bahaa carried out free visual tests for local community members. It is worth mentioning that the AAU Department of Optics considered Ibn Al-Haytham Hospital as one of the accredited training hospitals for its students.
