Under the patronage of Professor Sari Hamdan, President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, the Second Engineering Alumni Day 2025–2026 officially commenced. Professor Ahmad Hamdan, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, attended the opening on behalf of the patron. The event brought together Eng. Abdallah Assem Ghosheh, President of the Jordan Engineers Association, members of the Association’s Council, the head of its Balqa Branch, Professor Bashar Al-Tarawneh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, faculty deans, academic and administrative staff, alumni, students, and representatives from leading companies in the engineering sector. In his opening address, Professor Bashar Al-Tarawneh highlighted the significance of Alumni Day as a strategic platform for strengthening long-term engagement with graduates, connecting them with industry partners, and celebrating their academic and professional achievements. He underscored the university’s leading role in advancing the higher education landscape in Jordan. Al-Tarawneh also reviewed the university’s distinguished national and international rankings, noting that the university now serves more than 14,000 students and has achieved prominent global recognition. Al-Ahliyya Amman University ranked first among Jordanian universities and among the top 500 universities worldwide according to Times Higher Education, and first among private universities in Jordan according to the QS Rankings (700–761). The President of the Jordan Engineers Association emphasized that the event reflects the continuity of the national engineering mission and its vital role in state-building, innovation, and sustainable development. He added that engineering has evolved beyond a traditional technical field into a comprehensive system of analytical thinking and ethical responsibility, with graduates entering a rapidly transforming global environment shaped by digitalization, BIM, artificial intelligence, sustainability, green construction, integrated systems engineering, and lifecycle assessment. The program included four specialized panel sessions. The first featured success stories from engineering alumni; the second addressed applications of artificial intelligence in engineering; the third explored smart cities and sustainability; and the fourth examined labor-market requirements, essential skills, and the challenges facing new graduates. The event was moderated by Eng. Muneera Al-Tayeb, Assistant Dean for Field Training Affairs. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Professor Ahmad Hamdan and Professor Bashar Al-Tarawneh honored the President of the Jordan Engineers Association and all participating speakers in appreciation of their contributions to the success of the Second Engineering Alumni Day.
