AAU Locks a Seat in International Universities Debating Championship in Qatar

The AAU debate team demonstrated outstanding prowess by securing the fourth position in the third national debating championship hosted by Al-Hussein Technical University (HTU) in collaboration with the Intellect and Debating Society. The event, featuring participation from 28 local universities, concluded with a grand closing ceremony on January 15, 2024, graced by the presence of President Professor Sari Hamdan and Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Mustafa Al-Atiyyat. The university's representative team included students Ahmed Al Jadid, Batoul Marish, and Anas Akkawi from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, along with Aktham Arabiyat from the Faculty of Law. Their remarkable performance was supervised by Dr. Ihab Rayan from the Faculty of Law. Notably, student Batoul Marish received accolades as one of the top ten speakers in the Kingdom. With this achievement, AAU has secured its seat in the upcoming International Universities Debating Championship in the Arabic Language, scheduled to be organized by the Qatar Debate Center in Doha in May 2024. Professor Sari Hamdan commended the participants for their excellent performance and extended his best wishes for their success in the upcoming international championship. He emphasized that this victory is a testament to the distinguished level the university has attained in the debating field, showcasing its commitment to providing a supportive environment for the development of students' skills and competencies.
