AAU Law Faculty Organizes Scientific Seminar on Recent Amendments to the Social Security Law
The Faculty of Law at Al-Ahliyya Amman University recently organized a specialized scientific seminar titled “Recent Amendments to the Social Security Law and Their Impact on the Rights of Insured Persons,” with wide participation from students and faculty members.
The seminar was held under the supervision of Dr. Shadi Al-Tarawneh and Dr. Noor Al-Dabbas. It hosted the spokesperson of the Social Security Corporation and insurance expert, Mr. Musa Subhi, who delivered a detailed presentation on the key legislative amendments introduced to the Social Security Law.
The speaker highlighted the objectives of these amendments in strengthening the social protection system, ensuring the sustainability of pension funds, and achieving a balance between the rights of insured persons and the obligations of the institution. He also discussed the legal and practical implications of these amendments, particularly in relation to retirement, unemployment insurance, work injury coverage, and the mechanisms for calculating insurance benefits.
Mr. Subhi also emphasized the role of the institution in developing its services and enhancing public awareness of insurance-related matters. The seminar witnessed active engagement from students, who raised several questions reflecting their strong interest in the practical aspects of the amendments, all of which were addressed in detail by the speaker.
In conclusion, the Faculty of Law at Al-Ahliyya Amman University reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the organization of such scientific events, which contribute to refining students’ skills, enhancing their awareness of legislative developments, and strengthening ties with national institutions.
