AAU Launches the Initiative: "Your Right to Hear"
Al-Ahliyya Amman University has launched the "Your Right to Hear" initiative in collaboration with the Jordanian Audiology Center and charitable organizations in Al-Balqa Governorate. The initiative aims to provide free hearing aids to those in need among visitors of the university’s Hearing and Speech Center.
Professor Ahmed Hamdan, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, visited the Audiology and Balance Department under the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences. He was accompanied by Professor Ghaleb Uraikat, Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Zina Al-Alami, Vice Dean, Dr. Fadi Sweiti, Director of the Hearing and Speech Center and Head of the Department, along with Professor Hadeel Al-Yaseen, President's Advisor and Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Dr. Arwa Al-Khatib, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Dr. Eyad Shaaban, Assistant to the President for Accreditation, Quality, and Planning, and Director of the Human Resources and Institutional Development Unit.
During the visit, attendees toured the audiology and balance clinics to familiarize themselves with the department and its facilities.
A detailed overview was provided on the services offered by the Jordanian Audiology Center, in collaboration with GN, including hearing aids, cochlear implants, and plans to support individuals with hearing impairments across the Middle East.
As part of the "Your Right to Hear" initiative, spearheaded by Mr. Farhan Al-Sayegh, Executive Director of the Center, ten hearing aids were donated to assist patients visiting the Audiology and Balance Department.
The latest medical equipment available at the center was also showcased, including devices for middle ear function testing, auditory brainstem response (ABR) testing, balance testing, and advanced video otoscopy. These efforts align with the university’s commitment to staying abreast of the latest advancements in audiology.
