AAU Inaugurated Multi-story parking building.

In line with achieving the long-term goal of a zero carbon campus, AAU opened the new secure and safe Multi-story parking building near the campus for the Staff, Students and Visitors. This initiative is to support the sustainable development activities the university has undertaken during the previous years. Car parking in the campuses are major concern in the universities and the increasing number of cars increases CO2 emissions on campuses and lead to the need of allotting more open car parks to accommodate these cars. The search for a sustainable solution for this problem has directed towards a multistory car parking near but outside of the campus. The building is designed to make it easy to add solar panels as a source of renewable energy. This energy is used to operate the car park and to supply EV charging points, which are easily installed to further reduce the lifetime carbon footprint. Also this facility is enabled with smart card reading system and Surveillance camera for the safety.
