AAU Hosts the National Council for Family Affairs to Shed Light on “Establishing Nurseries in the Public & Private Sectors”

AAU hosted a workshop titled “Establishing Nurseries in Public & Private Sectors” organized by the National Council for Family Affairs on Monday, 16/12/2019. It is worthy to note that this workshop which aimed to introduce the importance of institutional nurseries consisted of two sessions.During the first session of this workshop, Dr. Haitham Al-Zoubi, the Director of the Nurseries Project, talked about institutional nurseries in Jordan and their role in stimulating and empowering Jordanian women and increasing their employment opportunities in addition to raising their effectiveness and productivity. He also referred to the impact of providing a model nursery in the workplace of women on the psychological and economic aspects of women and community. Dr. Al-Zoubi stressed the importance of creating a safe environment in nurseries for children of male and female employees alike. He also touched on the supportive and incentives mechanisms and the interior equipment that the Council provides to establish nurseries in institutions. During this event, an explanatory video was displayed about nurseries that the Council established in addition to displaying interviews with beneficiaries. During the first session, AAU hosted the Director of Nursery at Al-Balqa Applied University who talked about Al-Balqa successful experience in establishing the model nursery.During the second session, speakers from the Ministry of Social Development and the Directorate of Civil Defense discussed the standards, principles and procedures related to establishing and licensing institutional nurseries. At the end of the workshop, discussion took place with the attendees, who represented various sectors in Al-Balqa governorate.
