AAU Hosted An Acquainting Workshop about The Award of the Crown Prince for the Best Application of Government Services
The Department of Institutional Performance & Policy Development at the Prime Minister organized an acquainting workshop on The Award of the Crown Prince for the Best Application of Government Services at AAU. This workshop was attended by Dr. Qusay Shambour, the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, a number of academic and administrative members and the University students as well.In this workshop, the participating team provided a comprehensive presentation on the objectives of the award, the conditions for participation in it and how to apply for it. It also pointed out to the targeted sectors for designing applications related to government services which are provided to the public such as health, education, transportations, water, business environment and tourism sectors. These sectors are considered a priority in the government work.The team also pointed out that the aim of launching this award is to involve university students in designing government services and to provide solutions that facilitate the customers’ procedures. This award also aims to encourage students to devise innovative solutions in the field of smart phones and mobile devices applications for the purpose of developing easy and simplified government services that serve the country and community institutions and to enhance the relations between university students and Governmental entities by involving them in providing solutions that enhance the quality of life.It is noteworthy that His Highness the Crown Prince Al-Hussein Bin Abdullah II patronized on the 16th of past April launching the award ceremony for more than (300) thousand university students in Jordan. The students of the participating universities can win one of three awards totaling 100,000 JD which the Government of the United Arab Emirates provided for the three best applications offered by students. At the end of this workshop inquires of students and faculty members were responded to regarding the award, the conditions of participation and the importance of communicating with the sectors concerned before and during the application design phase in addition to many other technical details.
