AAU Engineering Wins Third Place in Firefighting Robot Competition (FFEC-2026)
The ALTF team from the Faculty of Engineering at Al-Ahliyya Amman University achieved a notable accomplishment by winning third place in the Firefighting Robot Competition (FFEC-2026), held at Al Hussein Technical University with the participation of 17 teams representing several Jordanian universities.
The team consisted of students Tala Sarour, Fadi Al-Bashtawi, and Ibtisam Al-Asi, under the supervision of Dr. Bassem Abu Znaid from the Department of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, and Dr. Mohammad Hassan from the Department of Communication and Computer Engineering. The team presented an advanced model demonstrating a high level of competence and innovation in robot design and programming.
This achievement reflects AAU’s commitment to supporting student creativity and excellence, as well as its dedication to providing a stimulating learning environment that enables students to develop practical skills and strengthen teamwork and positive competition across universities.
The Firefighting Robot Competition is considered one of the leading specialized robotics competitions at the national level. It aims to encourage students to develop smart technological solutions that simulate firefighting operations, bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application and promoting entrepreneurial engineering and technology-based projects.
