AAU Concludes Participation in the Second National Youth Dialogue Conference
Our AAU concluded its participation in the activities of the Second National Youth Dialogue Conference, organized by the National Youth Dialogue Initiative Committee of the Senate at the Dead Sea from May 5-8, 2024. The conference discussed key issues related to youth, opened avenues for direct dialogue among them, and encouraged their involvement in political and party work. Representing the university at the conference were Bana Mahmoud Al-Dabbas from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Moath Wael Al-Alwan from the Faculty of Business.
The opening ceremony of the Second National Youth Dialogue Conference was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, and attended by Prime Minister Dr. Bisher Al-Khasawneh, Senate President Faisal Akef Al-Fayez, and several other dignitaries. The Dean of Student Affairs at AAU, Dr. Mustafa Al-Atiyyat, also participated.
The conference included six sessions held over three days. The first session focused on updating the political system in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The second session addressed youth and societal issues and challenges, covering "The Principle of the Rule of Law" and "The Impact of Media and Social Media." The third session was about updating the economic system in Jordan, titled "Economic Modernization Vision." Participants in the fourth session discussed developing the public sector system in Jordan. The fifth session tackled youth and societal issues and challenges, including "Drugs – Traffic Accidents and Their Physical and Moral Impacts," while the sixth session dealt with student violence. The conference concluded with several recommendations.
The final statement of the conference emphasized the role of media in promoting investment projects and creating job opportunities, supporting economic sectors, enhancing infrastructure and innovation, and developing electronic applications to facilitate government transactions and encourage youth political participation and active citizenship.
The statement also stressed the importance of increasing citizens' trust in government communication by improving transparency and credibility, organizing roads to avoid congestion and accidents, expanding drug prevention centers, and enforcing stricter penalties for student violence in educational institutions.
