AAU Celebrates the Twenty Sixth Batch of Its Graduates for the First Semester 2018-2019
Under the patronage of Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, the Chairman of the AAU Board of Directors, the University celebrated the twenty sixth batch of its graduates for the first semester of the academic year 2018-2019 on Friday evening, 22/2/2019 in the Arena Theater. This event was attended by His Excellency Mr. Muhammad Saleh Al-Hourani, the Chairman of the AAU Board of Trustees, Prof. Sari Hamdan, the AAU President, and a number of members of the Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors along with deans, members of the academic & administrative staffs and a large crowd of the graduates’ families and invitees. The celebration which was well organized began with the Royal Anthem and reciting verses from the Holy Quran by the student Rakan Ashour of the Medical Engineering Department. After that, the AAU President delivered a speech where he said: “The graduation day is the day of giving, which reflects beautiful giving images. The first image of giving is the parents’ giving who give without waiting for any return and who seek to equip their sons and daughters with the knowledge weapon to be capable of facing the life challenges. It is here that I express my admiration and pride for the parents”. Then he talked about the second image of giving, is the graduates’ giving who achieved their parents’ hopes and graduated from AAU equipped with education and skills to face the practical life and he greeted the graduates. After that, he referred to the third image of giving, which is the academic & administrative staffs that provided the students with the latest scientific knowledge in the field of their specializations and he thanked and appreciated the academic & administrative staffs at the University. He talked about the fourth image of giving which is the AAU’s giving, the first private university in the Kingdom. He noted that AAU is always rejoicing to achieve the vision of its founder, the late Dr. Ahmed Al-Hourani, which is becoming more compatible with every achievement it performs through signing academic agreements with the world's top universities, obtaining international accreditations and fulfilling achievements at all levels. Prof. Hamdan thanked the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, for his continuous support to the University development and thanked the Board of Trustees as well. At the end of his speech, he highlighted the great and major role for His Majesty King Abdullah II Bin Al-Hussein who is concerned about the higher education march and its performance development. This was followed by the graduates’ speech which was delivered by the student Dania Qutishat from the Faculty of Law, in which she thanked the University’s owners, presidency, academic & administrative staffs and all its employees. She praised the educational and academic atmospheres and the ideal educational environment necessary to achieve excellence through success in the study plan and in obtaining the desired results. On behalf of all graduates, she highly appreciated the efforts and support that their parents provide to reach this day, in which the wishes of every student to obtain his/her university degree, to enter the practical life with strength, steadfastness and self-confidence. After that it was the time for announcing the names of the outstanding graduates in various specializations. Dr. Mustafa Attiyat, the Dean of Student Affairs, presented the graduation statement of the batch, while each of the deans presented the graduation statement of his faculty students. This was followed by handing certificates to the graduates. At the same time, songs and joys of the graduates’ parents and families filled the auditorium of the Arena Hall and they took commemorative photos for this happy occasion
