AAU Celebrates Graduation of the First Cohort of the Psychological Specialist Qualification Diploma

Under the patronage of University President Prof. Sari Hamdan, the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Al-Ahliyya Amman University held a ceremony to celebrate the graduation of the first cohort of students from the Psychological Specialist Qualification Diploma, organized by the AAU Center for Counseling and Psychological Care. In his remarks, Prof. Hamdan emphasized the importance of preparing specialized cadres in mental health, noting that the launch of this program responds to the growing need in Jordanian society for qualified professionals capable of providing high-quality psychological support services. He added that the program contributes to strengthening the mental health sector and reflects the University’s role in serving the nation and the community. Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Prof. Linda Al-Khawaja, welcomed the President’s presence at the ceremony and congratulated the graduates on their achievement, noting that the diploma represents a pioneering step for the University in clinical psychology. She explained that it aims to equip participants with the scientific and practical skills and knowledge needed to work with diverse segments of society. Dr. Heba Fathi presented an overview of the diploma’s tracks and content, expressing appreciation for the students’ efforts and commitment and commending the role of the academic staff in the program’s success through training and academic supervision. The ceremony also featured remarks by Ms. Mais Al-Samahouri, Director of the Mais Al-Samahouri Center for Psychotherapy, who expressed pride in her affiliation with Al-Ahliyya Amman University, describing it as a key milestone in her professional journey, and thanking the University’s administration for its support and empowerment in the field of mental health. At the conclusion of the event, University President Prof. Sari Hamdan presented certificates to the graduates amid a celebratory atmosphere filled with pride and joy, in the presence of members of the academic and administrative staff and the graduates’ families.
