AAU Celebrates Chess Championship Winners

AAU concluded its highly anticipated chess tournament on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, with an awards ceremony led by Prof. Mustafa Al-Atiyyat, Dean of Student Affairs. The tournament, organized by the Student Activities and Clubs Department, took place over two days in the Student Clubs Hall and attracted 68 participants from various faculties. In the men’s category, Saif Al-Din Al-Shayyab from the Faculty of Medical Laboratory Sciences claimed the championship title after a thrilling final match against Oday Al-Sharqawi from the Faculty of Information Technology, winning with a score of 2-1. Adam Al-Siba’i and Muhammad Suleiman, both from the Faculty of Information Technology, secured joint third place. In the women’s category, Dina Khader from the Faculty of Medical Laboratory Sciences emerged as the champion, defeating Huda Al-Jabali from the Faculty of Pharmacy in the final match, also by a score of 2-1. Rahma Jalal from the Faculty of Medical Laboratory Sciences and Dana Al-Madadha from the Faculty of Information Technology shared the third place. The tournament showcased the strategic skills and competitive spirit of the participants, reflecting the university's commitment to fostering student engagement and extracurricular activities.
