AAU Basketball Team Shines and Claims Second Place in the Inter-University Championship

Al Ahliyya Amman University achieved a distinguished sporting milestone as its men’s basketball team secured second place in the 3x3 Inter-University Basketball Championship for Jordanian universities, organized by the Jordanian University Sports Federation. The tournament witnessed wide participation from university teams, with AAU’s team advancing from the first round with a perfect record, defeating the Hashemite University, Mutah University, the Islamic Sciences University, and Al Balqa Applied University. The team then continued its strong performance in the second round, again achieving full marks by surpassing Jordan University of Science and Technology and the University of Jordan. The AAU team delivered an impressive performance that reflected a high level of preparation, skill, and discipline. They advanced confidently to the final match, ultimately finishing as runners-up after a close contest against Petra University, ending with a three-point difference and securing second place overall. The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Maher Hourani, the University President, Professor Sari Hamdan, and the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Mustafa Al-Atiyyat, extended their congratulations to the basketball team on this commendable achievement. Team officials also expressed their appreciation for the continuous support provided by the Dean of Student Affairs and the Sports Activities Department, affirming that this success is the result of hard work and strong team spirit. This achievement further enhances the presence of Al Ahliyya Amman University in the university sports arena and highlights its commitment to developing athletics and supporting student talent across various sports. At the conclusion of the tournament, the patron of the championship, Professor Rami Abdel Rahim, President of Petra University, accompanied by the Dean of Student Affairs at Al Ahliyya Amman University, Professor Mustafa Al-Atiyyat, and the Dean of Student Affairs at Petra University, Professor Iyad Al-Mallakh, honored the top three winning teams in the men's category.
