AAU Approves the Instructions of Granting Scholarships for Sport Excellence

The AAU Deans Council session held on 3/9/2019, approved the instructions of granting scholarships for sport excellence. The Council adopted three categories of excellence as follows: the first one includes anyone who was a national team player and represented Jordan in an Olympic, Asian or Arab sport games, or at least in one international game supervised by the sports federation of the Jordan Olympic Committee. It also includes those who were members of a military or school team and represented Jordan in at least one external game.The second category includes a player who was a member of a first – class club and participated in a group or individual game supervised by the sports federation of the Jordanian Olympic Committee or who was a player in one team of the Directorates of Education in the Kingdom. The third category includes a player who was a member of a second or third- class club and participated in a group or individual game supervised by any sports federation of the Jordanian Olympic Committee. It also includes a player in any military or school team and who won the first place in a sport championship of the Military Sports Council or the Directorates of Education in the Kingdom. Moreover, it includes a key player in one of the University sport teams and showed outstanding competence after two semesters of his excellence and participation in the University internal and external championships. The applicant for the scholarship should meet one of the sport excellence standards along with passing the skill and physical fitness tests prescribed by the Deanship in the game he/she excelled in and should meet the admission requirements adopted at the University.
