AAU and ADU Explore Joint Collaboration

Professor Sari Hamdan, President of our AAU, recently hosted a significant meeting with his counterpart Professor Ghassan Awad, President of Abu Dhabi University (ADU). The meeting, which also saw the participation of Professor Anas Al Soud, Vice President for International Relations and Quality Affairs at AAU, was a pivotal moment to discuss potential collaborative pathways between these two eminent educational institutions. A strategic plan was drawn up during the meeting, highlighting a roadmap for collaborative efforts. These efforts are primarily focused on joint scientific research, the exchange of faculty expertise, and cooperation in areas of international accreditation, academic rankings, and program development. ADU, established in 2003 by Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri and situated in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi, with additional campuses in Al Ain, Dubai, and Zayed City, stands as the largest private educational establishment in the United Arab Emirates, catering to around 8,000 students across its undergraduate and graduate programs. The university's commitment to global inclusivity is evident in its diverse student body, representing over 70 nations. The institution prides itself on its exceptional facilities, including cutting-edge laboratories, contemporary classrooms, and recreational amenities such as sports fields. In the realm of academic recognition, ADU has secured several prestigious accreditations; its Business School is recognized by AACSB and EQUIS, and select engineering programs boast ABET accreditation. Moreover, the university is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the UAE Ministry of Education. Marking its global academic stature, ADU is ranked in the top 2% of universities worldwide according to the QS World University Rankings 2024, distinguishing itself as a leading university in both the UAE and the Arab region for its academic prowess and research influence.
