A Symposium about AAU in the Sultanate of Oman
The Omani Ministry of Education organized in cooperation with AAU Omani Office a symposium delivered by Prof. Ghaleb Erekat, the AAU Dean of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences and the Director of the Admission & Registration Department. In the lecture which was attended by a number of directors and employees of the Ministry of Education, Prof. Erikat gave a detailed explanation about the AAU’s faculties and the specializations offered at the B.A. and M.A. levels. Prof. Erikat also touched upon the AAU’s plans regarding opening new programs in the future one of which is Doctorate Programs. He also talked about the AAU’s departments, its specialized centers and the AAU’s world classifications that the University achieved such as the QS Classification. The University obtained 4 stars this year at the level of the University along with 5 stars at the Faculty of Pharmacy level. It is worth mentioning that AAU’s Faculty of Pharmacy is the first Jordanian University to achieve it. Likewise, AAU ranked 301 plus in the world in the Times Classification in addition to achieving a number of local and international certifications of accreditations. For example, AAU was the first Jordanian university to achieve the certificate of accreditation in Risk Management. Prof. Erikat talked to the audience about the agreements that AAU has signed with a number of prominent American and European universities such as Harvard University, Oxford University, MIT, Queen Belfast University, Bradford University, Michigan University and others. These agreements deal with scientific research and developing teaching &learning and business incubators. Prof. Erikat presented a detailed description of the distinguished services that the AAU’s Masqat Office offers such as students’ admission until their graduation including the procedures of admission & registration and procedures of meeting them at Queen Alia International Airport; hosting them and their families in the University Hotels and securing female students in the University campus housing. All these services are offered under the guidance of Dr. Maher Al-Hurani, the Chairman of the AAU Board of Directors. Prof. Erikat also touched upon the incentive discounts offered to the Omani students in all specializations and the female University housing. At the end, Prof. Erikat answered the audience’s queries.
