A Seminar at AAU in Collaboration with the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission on the Jordanian Accreditation Guide for Academic Programs

As part of Al-Ahliyya Amman University’s ongoing commitment to achieving the highest standards of quality and academic accreditation, and in collaboration with the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions, the university organized an orientation seminar on the Jordanian Accreditation Standards for Academic Programs. The seminar was delivered by Ms. Jihan Jabr and Ms. Rania Sakher from the Commission and was attended by Dr. Eyad Abdullah Shaaban, Assistant to the University President for Accreditation, Quality, and Planning, and Director of the Human Resources and Institutional Development Unit. A number of deans, deputy deans responsible for accreditation and quality, heads of academic departments, and a large group of faculty members from the university also took part. The seminar introduced participants to the accreditation standards governing Jordanian academic programs, key performance indicators, and evaluation mechanisms. It concluded with an interactive Q&A session, during which participants’ questions and inquiries were thoroughly addressed. At the opening of the event, Dr. Eyad Shaaban welcomed the representatives of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission and commended the Commission’s pivotal role in fostering and deepening a culture of quality across higher education institutions in Jordan. He highlighted its efforts in evaluating institutions and awarding quality assurance certificates at both the university and academic program levels. Dr. Shaaban also reaffirmed Al-Ahliyya Amman University’s dedication—as Jordan’s first private university—to implementing quality assurance standards and fulfilling accreditation and ranking requirements at both local and international levels. This commitment, he noted, is directed towards elevating institutional performance and enhancing the quality of education, learning, scientific research, and community service through collaboration and coordination among all university stakeholders. He further acknowledged the direct support of Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, Chairman of the Board of Directors, as well as the leadership and guidance of Professor Dr. Sari Hamdan, University President, in steering the university toward its vision of becoming a globally recognized smart university with a sustainable, knowledge-driven environment that fosters creativity and innovation. In his closing remarks, Dr. Eyad Shaaban extended his sincere appreciation to the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions for their continued and fruitful cooperation. He also thanked all participating faculty and administrative staff for their active engagement and dedication, which reflect their unwavering commitment to advancing the educational process and embedding a culture of quality in every aspect of academic life at the university. For its part, the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission expressed its gratitude to Al-Ahliyya Amman University for hosting this distinguished seminar. The Commission praised the university’s fruitful collaboration in promoting and enhancing a culture of quality and academic accreditation, emphasizing the vital role such initiatives play in advancing higher education in the Kingdom and in achieving the highest standards of academic excellence.
