A Lecture on Scientific Research Issues in Al-Ahliyya Amman University

The Faculty of Business in Al-Ahliyya Amman University hosted Prof. Hussein Al-Yasein, the Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research on Tuesday corresponding to 3/1/2017.At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Abdel Al-Naser Nour, the Dean of the Faculty of Business praised the cooperation between the departments to upgrade the status of the Faculty. He also commended the good results of the Proficiency Exam and quickly reviewed the results for each department in the Faculty stressing the importance of taking advantage of the assessment of the exam results to improve their performances.He also emphasized the significance of paying attention to the scientific research which is considered one of the basic pillars of developing the knowledge of faculty members and strengthening the University standing among other universities at the local, Arab and International levels. He also mentioned the names of the faculty members who carried out research and encouraged others to conduct and publish their research and to participate in conferences.Prof. Hussein Al-Yasein talked about the goals of this lecture and emphasized the importance of scientific research and of selecting refereed and accepted journals for researches publication. He warned them to abstain from publishing in hijacked and pirated journals since they are unacceptable for promotion in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education which stipulate that the researcher himself is the only one responsible for selecting the right journals.He also explained the types of local and international journals and the number of calculated points assigned for the promotion in each one of them. He added that he would prepare a list of classified accepted journals. At the end of the meeting, the Dean of Scientific Research answered the questions raised by faculty members.
