A lecture entitled Justice and Judiciary in Jordan
His Excellency Rateb Al-Wazni, President of the Higher Judicial Council and President of the Court of Cassation gave a lecture entitled ‘Justice and the Judicial System in Jordan’. Attending the lecture were Prof. Dr. Maher Saleem, President of the University, and members of staff and administrators at Al-Ahliyya Amman University. Mr. Wazni talked about the judicial system of Jordan, the selection criteria of judges, and the number of male and female judges in Jordan. He noted that the judiciary in Jordan is supported by the Higher Judicial Institute by providing it with young cadres from the top-ranking secondary school students in the governorates who are then trained in the faculties of law in the universities within the Institute’s ‘Young Judges’ Program. At the end of the lecture, Mr. Wazni thanked AAU for its warm hospitality and answered questions from the audience.
