A Joint Research Cooperation Between Al-Ahliyya Amman University and Sultan Qaboos University

Al-Ahliyya Amman University has fulfilled many achievements in the field of scientific research and innovation during the past 30 years. From the first day of its inception, AAU has placed itself in an accelerating science race that only recognizes leadership and creativity in all fields. Thanks to everyone’s efforts, the University was able to fulfill many achievements and to continue its march in building a society based on education, searching for knowledge and engaging in sober scientific research. Dr. Maher Al-Hourani wagered on education and scientific research as the basis for transforming the educational community. He also emphasized the distinguished rapid expansion which aims to support the Research Center; to activate the role of scientific research and to link the University with prestigious and advanced international universities.This was embodied in a distinguished joint cooperation with Sultan Qaboos University, whereby they published the first joint research paper titled “The Therapeutic Potential of Bioactive Polysaccharides in Tissue and Wound Healing” in one of the advanced scientific journals. In this joint research paper, Sultan Qaboos University was represented by Prof. Ali Al-Jabri, who is a Professor of Immunology & Serology and a distinguished Arab researcher who has many advanced therapeutic researches. As for Al-Ahliyya Amman University, it was represented by Dr. Ahmed Qutishat, who is an Associate Professor of Neurology & Molecular Biology, conducted advanced medical research in Britain. He joined the AAU’s research center with a distinguished group of researchers. This cooperation came as a result of previous and fruitful efforts between the two parties. It is worth mentioning that scientific research is an essential feature of Al-Ahliyya Amman University since its inception. Over the past years, AAU has made remarkable progress in developing the basic structure for scientific research, innovation, experiences and important outcomes. Scientific research which recruits the elite of Arab researchers is still at the forefront of the AAU faculties and research centers.
