74 Youths from Arab capitals Representing 17 Countries are Visiting Al-Ahliyya Amman University within the Activities of the Thirteenth Meeting
Participants in the thirteenth meeting for youths of the Arab capitals, which organized by the Ministry of Youth in association with the Arab League, is numbering 74 youths representing 17 Arab countries, visited Al-Ahliyya Amman University on Monday 03/10/2016.Participants alongside Jordan represented each of Palestine, Lebanon, Tunisia, Morocco, Somalia, Mauritania, Libya, Sudan, Egypt, Iraq, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, UAE and Kuwait. The Minister of Political Development, Eng. Musa Maaytah,said in a lecture to the participants and the audience about extremism and terrorism,the participation in the last parliamentary elections in Jordan was wide across the political spectrum, received monitoring of international and Arab organizations including the Arab League . Maaytah explained that the Arab world created young people who do not believe in dialogue because they lived in poverty, unemployment, injustice, marginalization, which made their conviction in political parties weak and drove them to individual work. The Minister displayed that the political life in Jordan is based on building a civil state, which had resulted in the success of the electoral process and the participation across a wide political spectrum .The Jordanian society components gained their rights in the Lower House and the Upper House , state administration including women's rights who took over these positions like men without discrimination .He also discussed the amendments that have taken place on the articles of the Jordanian Constitution. President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University ,Dr. Sadeq Hamed,displayed the process of University education and its role in creating job opportunities for graduates through diversity in the educational specialization, which copes with the requirements of the labor market. He referred to the cultural and intellectual diversity : students enrolled in the University come from 70 countries from different nationalities. He noted that the University was founded 26 years ago,explaining that it was the first private University in terms of the date of foundation and graduated about 25 thousand students. He said that we are working on building the student's personality in a safe environment of thought , tenderness and performance , which is derived from the Jordanian environment in various fields . In its religious side, we bear the moderation of Islam, the religion of tolerance and love, not atonement and derogation. The President of the University called for youth to preserve national identity , pride in Arabism , the Islamic religion of societal coexistence and openness to the world. Dean of Student Affairs,Dr. Majid Asilh, displayed a national plan to confront extremism prepared by the Jordanian government in 2014 . Jordan was the first to fight against all types of extremism that ,which targeting young people as a result of Arab, regional and international circumstances. He said that the plan emphasizes enlightenment , rooting the values of tolerance and human rights .He addressed the strategic plan of the Al-Ahliyya Amman University that Islam is a religion of moderation .He said that extremism is not linked with any religion or identity or creed .He added that religious culture came from the purposes of Islamic law . He said that the University reviews curriculum to immunize students of ideological extremism. Youth Director of the Capital, Dr. Hussein Jabour, underlined the interest of the Ministry of Youth to organize programs with educational and national institutions in order to enrich the youth experience in Jordan. Mr. Gabi Ghazzawi, Head of the De La Salle club said in a meeting with the participants: youths are the backbone of the nation ;they are the knights of change as they are named by home Leader and the builder of the modern renaissance His Majesty King Abdullah II Bin Al-Hussein on more than one occasion, so we have to give youths our care and attention.Dr.Asilh accompanied the participants in the meeting on a tour of all University facilities ,which got their admiration.
