The English Language and Translation Program continues to contribute to the development of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, the first private university in Jordan, as a prestigious academic institution at the local and regional levels. a program in English Language and Translation was offered in 2001. The program aim to build students cognitive skills as well as their analytical in English language and translation. It also stimulates an effective engagement in constructive scientific research.

Admission requirements of the Bachelor degree in the English Language and Translation program include a High School Certificate or equivalent in the following:

  • Translate a wide variety of texts between English and Arabic
  • Read and Analyze a variety of texts using insights from major translation theories.
  • Use modern translation, dubbing and subtitling technologies.
  • Write literary or expository texts using the conventions of standard English as stylistically appropriate.
  • Employ insights from English and Arabic Rhetoric and Stylistics in the analysis of English and Arabic texts.
  • Describe and apply insights from modern Arabic and English Linguistic studies.
