Program Description
Interior design is considered an artistic specialization and has an engineering nature in terms of building finishes, works on furniture designs and what is related to the interior spaces of buildings. Interior design is considered one of the very important disciplines in improving people lives due to what the specialization does to facilitate the use of the spaces within which people move in our daily lives by designing well-thought-out interior spaces for the users of the place.
The program is taught by a qualified teaching staff of doctoral and masters holders in all fields related to interior design. with high efficiency in using the latest technologies used in the local and global market.
To meet the needs of the labor market, the specialty of interior design was introduced in 2000. Most of the graduates work in the Jordanian and regional labor market.

Educational Objectives
Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
Graduates of the Interior Design program are expected—within three to five years of graduation—to demonstrate the ability to:
PEO 1 Apply advanced artistic and technical knowledge to develop innovative interior design solutions that balance aesthetics and functionality while aligning with environmental and architectural standards.
PEO 2 Integrate effectively within multidisciplinary professional environments, leading or contributing to collaborative interior design projects in partnership with architects and technical specialists, while responding innovatively to evolving market demands.
PEO 3 Exhibit a strong commitment to ethical and professional standards in design practice by adhering to regulations and codes, upholding quality benchmarks, and enhancing quality of life through responsible interior environments.
PEO 4 Engage in lifelong learning and professional development by remaining abreast of emerging interior design technologies, sustainable materials, and intelligent environments, and by pursuing advanced studies or professional training.
PEO 5 Employ critical and analytical thinking to interpret the cultural, social, and environmental dimensions of interior spaces, generating human-centered and sustainable design solutions responsive to user needs and evolving lifestyles.
PEO 6 Utilize advanced communication and digital visualization tools to articulate design concepts effectively across diverse visual and interactive platforms, ensuring clarity for clients and implementation teams alike.
PEO 7 Contribute to the development of smart and interactive interior environments through the integration of contemporary technologies and intelligent environmental systems, in alignment with advancements in digital innovation and user behavior.
PEO 8 Demonstrate entrepreneurial leadership in interior design by initiating independent design ventures that synthesize creative excellence, market awareness, and strategic thinking in the advancement of professional design services.
PLO 1 Critically analyze aesthetic and functional theories and concepts in interior design within contemporary cultural, social, and technological contexts, and interpret their relationship to user experience and the built environment.
PLO 2: Evaluate the historical evolution and major phases of interior design, deriving critical insights that inform and advance contemporary practices in diverse interior spatial typologies.
PLO 3: Employ advanced digital tools and specialized design software with high proficiency to produce innovative interior design solutions, adhering to professional standards and technical and implementation requirements.
PLO 4: Design and develop interior solutions responsive to user needs and functional spatial contexts, integrating human, experiential, and aesthetic dimensions within a comprehensive strategic vision.
PLO 5: Generate innovative design solutions grounded in smart building technologies, digital systems, and interactive environments, while upholding principles of sustainability, environmental responsibility, and public health.
PLO 6: Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, assuming professional responsibility in managing all phases of interior design—from conceptualization to execution—while ensuring clear communication and the achievement of shared objectives.
PLO 7: Present design concepts and projects through professional visual communication media and technical documentation, ensuring clarity of content, precision of representation, and alignment with the intended audience.
PLO 8: Assess the social, cultural, and economic impact of interior design decisions, exercising informed professional judgment that strengthens the designer’s role in shaping environments that enhance quality of life for individuals and communities.
