Master


Clinical Psychology Master's degree at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, established in 2009, offers a comprehensive grounding in understanding mental health problems. The course has substantial research elements and modules that develop the knowledge of the etiology and treatment of various psychological disorders and behavioral problems.

 

Students will receive extensive training in research methods via a statistics module and complete a postgraduate dissertation on a related topic or comprehensive exam. The course teaches theories and treatment methods that address psychological disorders and maladaptive behaviors of people who seek psychological services and promote well-being, self-discovery, and personal development. The course also covers administering psychological tests, diagnose and treating mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders such as depression, psychosis, anxiety, addictions, eating disorders, or learning disorders. The graduate will be able to apply various types of psychotherapy, from cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy (such as psychoanalysis), family therapy, or humanistic therapy and the new waves of psychotherapy.
