Program Description
The Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders program was established to provide academic and clinical preparation for individuals seeking professional credentials to work with individuals with communication and swallowing disorders.
This degree also allows its holder to open a private practice in the field of speech and language if he meets all the requirements of the Ministry of Health. The program prepares students to provide speech, language, and swallowing disorders services in a variety of professional settings and for a variety of cases. This program, which consists of five consecutive semesters (two years), aims to prepare students to prevent, evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech and language communication disorders and swallowing disorders. Completion of the program meets the requirements for the Jordanian Clinical Speech-Language Pathologist Certification and is consistent with the requirements for the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology.
Graduate students in the Speech-Language Pathology program have training opportunities at the Ahliyya Amman University Speech and Hearing Clinic on campus, which serves the residents of Amman, Balqa Governorate, and surrounding communities. The training is supervised by highly experienced specialists and faculty members.
