|Theories and Techniques of Psychotherapy
|The course deals with the various theories of psychotherapy in the first, second, and third waves, such as: (analytical, cognitive, behavioral, narrative, humanistic, dialectical, gestalt, etc.), and trains students to apply their strategies as much as possible. Distinguishing between theories in terms of effectiveness and impact. The ability to write and formulate the case and treatment plan.
|Psychological Assessment and Diagnosis
|The course deals with the methods used to evaluate personality, such as mental abilities, intelligence, attitudes, tendencies, aptitudes... highlighting the types of psychological tests used in psychiatric clinics, including objective tests, projective tests, and international intelligence tests such as WAIS (Wechsler) and Stanford Binet 5. The focus is on the process of application, correction, and interpretation, writing the report, and completing the evaluation process.
|Research Design in Clinical Psychology and its Statistical Methods
|The course aims to enable students to become familiar with scientific research methods in the field of clinical psychology by examining the steps of research in approaches (descriptive, experimental, clinical,...) with different research designs, and statistical methods used in data analysis (SPSS. NCSS).
|Training students for a full semester after the first field training, at a rate of 300 hours, and includes continuing training on the evaluation process, psychological diagnosis, presenting proposed treatment plans according to certain theoretical approaches (analytical, behavioral, cognitive, behavioral-cognitive...) and training on work within the framework of the work team. Within institutions and respecting professional ethics for clinical practice: psychiatric hospitals, psychiatric clinics, centers, correctional facilities.
|Training students for a full semester, at a rate of 300 hours, in places supervised by the Ministry of Health, such as hospitals, clinics and some private centers. The training includes the process of psychological evaluation and diagnosis using psychological tests and clinical interviews, and developing treatment plans. This is under the supervision of a clinical psychologist, which allows the student, at the end of the training, to write a psychological report about the medical condition.
|Psychological Disorders -Advanced
|The course aims to enable students to understand common mental disorders in terms of their causes, nature, classification, prevalence rates, methods of diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis. Research methods in the science of psychological disorders and the integrative approach in the study of psychological disorders will be covered as well. The course covers psychological disorders in the elderly, adolescents and children.
|Psychopathology for Children & Adolescents
|The course focuses on understanding the common psychological disorders in this age group, such as hyperactivity disorder, mood disorders, anxiety, conduct disorders, and how to accurately evaluate and diagnose them and help students develop the practical skills necessary to provide treatment, psychological support, and effective interventions for children and teenagers. Emphasizing on interactions within the family and school environment.
|Strategies of Psychotherapy
|The course aims to introduce students to psychological treatment methods in terms of diagnostic procedures, case studies, writing a psychological report, the proposed treatment plan, pre- and post-evaluation, following up on the patient?s condition...cooperating with the medical team and other treatment institutions.
|Biological Basis of Psychopathology
|This course aims at studying the physiological, neurological, and biochemical basis of psychological disorders and its therapeutic implications .
|The course aims to provide students with the foundations of psychodynamic therapy by focusing on the principles, theories, psychodynamic treatments, techniques most supported in the experimental literature, and the skills necessary for the therapist.
|The course includes an introduction to group therapy, what it is, how to form a therapeutic group and its leadership styles, some ethical and professional issues in the group therapy process, the stages of group development and the role of members. Identifying the therapeutic theories that can be used and employed in group therapy by identifying appropriate strategies for their application and increasing the effectiveness of the therapeutic forces and factors required for the success of the sessions and how to build therapeutic programs.
|Psychological Diagnosis and Assessment - Advanced
|The course aims to provide students with advanced psychological assessment skills with the ability to apply objective and projective psychological tests such as the Drawing a Man Test, the Drawing a House, a Tree, a Person test... and cognitive and neurological tests such as the Bander-Gestalt test, the neuropsychological assessment process using Luria-Nebraska, and disorder assessment lists. Objective children: BASC behavioral assessment system.
|The course deals with the clinical interview: its forms, stages, interview skills of the clinical specialist (opening, building, ending, listening, recording, using questions and tests, interview principles, interview environment,..), clinical evaluation and psychological diagnosis (collecting information, studying... Case, case history, writing the psychological report.
|Research Design in Clinical Psychology and its Statistical Methods - Advanced
|The course aims to study medications and their effects on the brain, mood, thought, and behavior. The course covers the rationale for pharmacology, the presumed mechanism of action, and medications used in the treatment of disorders and diseases of the central nervous system. With an examination of the main classes of psychoactive drugs, including stimulants (cocaine and amphetamine), depressants (alcohol, heroin, OxyContin, the hallucinogen LSD), methamphetamine (and medications to treat some psychological disorders such as (antidepressants, medications to manage bipolar disorder, etc.). Discussing current controversial issues in psychopharmacology.
|Ethics and Professional Issues in Clinical Psychology
|The course includes ethical issues in clinical practice, learning the ethical constitution and performance standards in practice, making decisions according to those standards and the ethical constitution, and applying them in the therapeutic relationship, supervision, and counseling. As well as understanding the values of practice and professional relationships with colleagues in the profession, and focus on the topics of confidentiality, treatment agreements, respect and acceptance of the client.
|Contemporary Issues in Clinical Psychology
|The course aims to study a group of important and contemporary psychological issues with the aim of increasing awareness among students and society. As well as clarifying the necessary strategies to correct wrong ideas and trends. The most important of these issues are violence and aggression, bullying, child abuse, beliefs about intelligence and talent, psychological vitality...
|The course aims to empower students with the main concepts and theories in the field of family therapy and their methods. Also, the skills necessary to practice this type of therapy and how to deal with marriage problems, the family threatened by instability and disintegration, and children?s development problems that affect their psychological and professional stability and the future of their lives.
