Introduction:

Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU) is deeply committed to promoting global inclusivity, accessibility, and equal opportunity in higher education, with a strong focus on empowering students from developing countries. In alignment with SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities, the University ensures that international students—especially those from low-income, conflict-affected, and developing nations—receive equitable access to quality education and full participation in the academic and social life of the university.

AAU’s inclusive internationalization policy fosters cultural diversity and global engagement by attracting students from more than 25 developing countries across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. This diversity enriches the learning environment and enhances intercultural understanding, reflecting the University’s vision of building a globally connected academic community.

The University’s admission framework is designed to eliminate financial and social barriers for students from developing nations. It includes tuition discounts, full and partial scholarships, flexible payment plans, and targeted financial aid programs managed in coordination with the Deanship of Admission and Registration, the Financial Aid Office, and the Sustainability & Global Ranking Center. These initiatives are complemented by academic and psycho social support programs, language bridging courses, cultural orientation sessions, and inclusive extracurricular activities to ensure international students’ academic success and social integration.

AAU continuously monitors the number and proportion of international students from developing countries through its centralized academic database, ensuring data accuracy and transparency. Statistical records from the academic years 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 confirm a steady increase in the enrollment of students from developing regions, highlighting the University’s growing global impact and contribution to educational equity.

By offering accessible, high-quality education to students regardless of their economic background or nationality, AAU demonstrates measurable progress toward reducing global inequalities, supporting international mobility, and empowering future leaders from developing countries to contribute to sustainable social and economic development both locally and globally.
