1. Women’s Health Center – Faculty of Nursing: Promoting Wellness and Preventive Healthcare  

The Women’s Health Center at Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU), affiliated with the Faculty of Nursing, provides health education, awareness programs, and preventive services for students and the community. The center focuses on promoting wellness, supporting women’s empowerment, and raising awareness about preventive healthcare and family well-being. Through workshops, outreach initiatives, and professional counselling, the center plays a vital role in advancing SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality) by ensuring inclusive access to health education and services within and beyond the university campus. 

2. AAU Clinical Psychology Department: Promoting Student Mental Health and Well-being 

The Clinical Psychology Department at Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU) provides academic and practical training focused on mental health, psychological well-being, and counseling. Through specialized programs and supervised fieldwork, the department equips students with the skills to understand, assess, and support individuals facing mental health challenges. This reflects AAU’s commitment to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by promoting awareness, prevention, and professional capacity-building in mental health across the university community. 

3. AAU Medical Services Department: Providing Comprehensive On-Campus Healthcare for Students and Staff 

The Department of Medical Services at Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU) provides comprehensive on-campus healthcare services to students and staff. The center offers medical consultations, preventive screenings, first aid, and health awareness programs, ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment. Operated by qualified medical professionals, the department plays a key role in promoting student well-being, preventive care, and early intervention, aligning with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by ensuring accessible and inclusive healthcare for all members of the university community. 

1. AAU Women’s Health Awareness Event Promotes Early Detection and Student Empowerment  

The Women’s Health Center at Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU), in collaboration with the Social Committee at the Faculty of Nursing, organized an awareness event entitled “Your Strength Begins with Awareness… Get Checked to Protect Yourself.” The initiative, supervised by Dr. Enas Bader and pharmacist Haneen Al-Momani, included educational activities, informational brochures, and symbolic screening to promote early detection and disease prevention. The event aimed to empower women and encourage healthy lifestyles, coinciding with Pink Month for global health awareness. This initiative reflects AAU’s strong commitment to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality) through health education, prevention, and student engagement in community well-being. 

2. AAU Supports Women’s Health and Early Detection through National Awareness Initiativ  

The Women’s Health Center – Faculty of Nursing at Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU), in collaboration with the National Center for Women’s Health, participated in the Pink Month awareness activities organized by the Zai Comprehensive Health Center in Al-Balqa Governorate. Represented by pharmacist Haneen Al-Momani, the center delivered an awareness lecture on the health benefits of breastfeeding and early detection practices. The event, held under the patronage of the Director of the Balqa Health Directorate and in cooperation with the Jordan Breast Cancer Program, aimed to empower women, promote health education, and strengthen preventive culture within the community. This initiative reflects AAU’s strong commitment to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality) through community-based health education and national cooperation for early prevention. 

3. AAU Nursing Faculty Holds CPD-Accredited Workshop on Growth Supportive Care for At-Risk Newborns  

The Faculty of Nursing at Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU) organized a clinical workshop entitled “Supportive Growth Care for At-Risk Newborns in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs)”. The session, presented by certified trainer Effat Al-Maayta and accredited by the Nursing Council for Continuing Professional Development (CPD), focused on best practices for enhancing the health and development of high-risk newborns. Participants explored strategies for individualized neonatal care, family involvement, and environmental safety in NICUs. Conducted in the clinical simulation lab, the workshop provided hands-on experience that improved participants’ ability to support maternal and child health. This initiative reflects AAU’s strong commitment to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through professional health education, neonatal care advancement, and family-centered healthcare training. 

4. AAU Nursing Students Conduct Maternal Health Awareness Activity for Pregnant Women 

The Faculty of Nursing at Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU), in collaboration with the Social Committee, organized a field awareness activity at the Amman Comprehensive Health Center for pregnant women. The activity aimed to raise awareness on breastfeeding and proper nutrition during pregnancy, emphasizing their impact on the health of both mother and child. Nursing students enrolled in the Maternal Health course planned and delivered educational sessions under the supervision of academic staff, combining theory with practical community engagement. This initiative reflects AAU’s strong commitment to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality) by promoting maternal and child health awareness, preventive education, and women’s empowerment in making informed health decisions. 

5. AAU Sports Activity Section: Promoting Health, Fitness, and Community Engagement 

The Women’s Health Center – Faculty of Nursing at Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU), in collaboration with the King Hussein Cancer Center / Tobacco Control Office and the Saudi Cultural Attaché in Jordan, organized a two-day training course titled “Empowering University Students with Awareness Skills on the Dangers of Smoking and the Importance of Adopting Healthy Lifestyles.” The program targeted Saudi nursing students from various Jordanian universities, equipping them with communication and awareness skills to promote healthy behaviors among their peers. The sessions, supervised by pharmacist Haneen Al-Momani, included workshops, interactive lectures, and practical exercises. At the conclusion, AAU received a plaque of appreciation from the Saudi Cultural Attaché, acknowledging its contribution to health awareness and student empowerment. This initiative strongly supports SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by promoting preventive education, healthy lifestyles, and international collaboration. 

6. AAU Celebrates Graduation of the First Cohort of the Diploma in Psychological Professional Training 

Under the patronage of Prof. Sari Hamdan, President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU), the Faculty of Arts and Sciences celebrated the graduation of the first cohort of students from the Diploma in Qualifying Psychological Specialists program. The diploma, organized by the Center for Psychological Care, aims to prepare qualified professionals capable of providing effective psychological support services to diverse segments of society. The program integrates scientific knowledge with practical training under the supervision of academic experts, contributing to the development of the mental health sector in Jordan. This initiative reinforces AAU’s commitment to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through education, empowerment, and community service in the field of psychological care.
