Public reporting on university progress and performance related to SDG4 (Quality Education). 

Introduction: 

 

Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU) demonstrates full transparency and accountability in publishing its progress toward SDG 4 – Quality Education. Through the Sustainability & International Ranking Center (SIRC), the Deanship of Academic Affairs, the Teaching and Learning Center, the Hourani e-Learning Center, and the AAU Digital Library, the University publicly reports all academic-quality initiatives, inclusive-education programs, curriculum innovations, and professional-development achievements. 

Between 2023 and 2025, AAU documented measurable progress in: 

  • expanding access to quality education through scholarships, digital-learning systems, and open-learning platforms (SDG 4.3); 
  • enhancing teaching quality through continuous faculty training and curriculum alignment with SDG principles (SDG 4.4); 
  • promoting lifelong learning through diplomas, open courses, and community workshops (SDG 4.7); 
  • publishing transparent reports detailing educational performance, diversity outcomes, and learning-impact metrics. 

All reports are published through AAU’s Sustainability Portal, ensuring public accessibility, verification, and alignment with SDG 4 and SDG 17.

  1. Performance Evaluation
    1. Transparent Reporting

    AAU publishes Sustainability Reports and Executive Reports that document: 

    • quality assurance processes, 
    • academic excellence indicators, 
    • digital education achievements, 
    • inclusive learning services. 

    All SDG 4 evidence is publicly accessible through the AAU website. 

    1. Inclusive Learning Policies (SDG 4.3, 4.5)

    AAU ensures equal opportunities for: 

    • students with disabilities, 
    • first-generation students, 
    • refugees, 
    • low-income students. 

    Progress is published annually through statistical dashboards and SDG-linked metrics. 

    1. Digital Education Transformation (SDG 4.4)

    The Hourani e-Learning Center reports: 

    • the expansion of hybrid-learning content, 
    • digital courses, 
    • smart classrooms, 
    • capacity-building programs for digital literacy. 
    1. Faculty and Student Capacity Building

    The Teaching and Learning Center publishes annual results of: 

    • pedagogical innovation programs, 
    • professional-development workshops (300+ faculty trained annually), 
    • entrepreneurship and innovation training, 
    • community-focused educational outreach. 
    1. Public Access to Educational Resources

    AAU’s Digital Library provides open-access resources for the public, strengthening inclusive knowledge-sharing and regional educational equity.

    Action 1: SDG 4 Transparency Dashboard 

    Interactive online dashboard showing educational-access indicators, faculty training hours, and student-completion rates. Target: Complete by 2026. 

    Action 2: Inclusive Education Strategy 

    Strengthen support systems and widen access for marginalized groups. Target: 10% increase in scholarships and inclusivity measures by 2027. 

    Action 3: Faculty Excellence Program 

    Annual reporting on teaching innovation and professional development. Target: 300 faculty trained per year. 

    Action 4: Community Learning Hub 

    Expansion of community-oriented learning modules, diplomas, and open courses. Target: 15 new programs by 2028. 

    Action 4: Annual Quality Education Report 

    Annual public report summarizing SDG 4 progress and performance. 
    Target: Release each May starting 2025.

    All are recognized for excellence in transparency, educational quality, and inclusive learning.

    • open-access educational and training resources, 
    • verified data governance for academic impact. 

    Localization 

    AAU aligns its reporting with: 

    • Jordan’s National Education Strategy (2021–2030), 
    • Higher Education Accreditation Commission standards, 
      ensuring global relevance and local impact. 

    Institutional Integration Summary 

    Reporting on SDG 4 is fully institutionalized through a coordinated governance model led by SIRC, which integrates verified contributions from: 

    • Deanship of Academic Affairs, 
    • Teaching and Learning Center, 
    • Hourani e-Learning Center, 
    • AAU Digital Library, 
    • Global Engagement Center. 

    Each unit provides evidence-based data on teaching quality, learning outcomes, training hours, educational access, and inclusion performance. All information is consolidated, verified, and approved before publication on AAU’s Sustainability Portal. 

    This governance model ensures accuracy, public transparency, and alignment with SDG targets (4.3–4.7) and SDG 17, establishing AAU as a leader in educational accountability and quality reporting.
