Published Progress – SDG10 (17.3.10)

Public reporting on university progress and performance related to SDG10 (Reduced Inequalities).

Introduction:

Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU) demonstrates an institution-wide commitment to social inclusion, equity, and the reduction of inequalities in line with SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities.
The University ensures that education, employment, and community services remain accessible to all—irrespective of gender, disability, nationality, or socioeconomic status—while maintaining transparent reporting on progress and measurable outcomes.

Through the Sustainability and International Ranking Center (SIRC), Deanship of Student Affairs, Women’s Health Center, Hearing and Speech Center, and AAU Center for Consultations and Psychological Care, AAU collects, verifies, and publishes inclusion-related data annually through the Sustainability Portal and Annual Sustainability Report.

Between 2023 and 2025, AAU recorded major achievements:

  • expanding outreach and support for refugees, people with disabilities, and first-generation students,
  • implementing inclusive education policies and accessible digital platforms,
  • increasing female participation across academic and leadership positions, and
  • publicly disclosing all related initiatives via reports, news, and sustainability dashboards.

This transparent model ensures that AAU’s commitment to equality is both evidence-based and externally verifiable, aligning with UN SDG 10 targets (10.2 – 10.4) and Jordan’s National Strategy for Human Rights (2022 – 2030).

    Institutional Integration Summary

At Al-Ahliyya Amman University, the implementation and reporting of SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities are governed through an inclusive framework integrating academic, administrative, and community units under the supervision of the Sustainability and International Ranking Center (SIRC). The Deanship of Student Affairs, Women’s Health Center, Hearing and Speech Center, and Center for Consultations and Psychological Care collect quantitative and qualitative data on equity, accessibility, and participation. SIRC verifies these datasets for accuracy and submits them to the University Presidency for final approval and publication through AAU’s Sustainability Portal, Annual Sustainability Report, and Executive Summaries.

This process ensures that AAU’s social-equity initiatives are evidence-based, externally verifiable, and publicly accessible, in alignment with UN SDG 10 targets (10.2–10.4) and Jordan’s Human Rights and Inclusion Strategies. By embedding inclusivity within its core institutional governance, AAU fosters a campus culture that champions diversity, equity, and equal opportunity, directly advancing SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
