Public Renewable Pledge (7.4.2)

Campaigns and events encouraging public commitment toward 100% renewable energy.

Introduction:

Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU) promotes a strong culture of public commitment to renewable energy through awareness campaigns, community events, educational programs, and national-level participation.
The Public Renewable Pledge forms part of AAU’s broader sustainability strategy designed to inspire students, staff, families, community groups, and local institutions to adopt clean-energy behaviors and support the transition toward a fully renewable future.

The pledge emphasizes the responsible use of energy, the importance of renewable sources, sustainable mobility choices, smart-building awareness, and climate-friendly habits. AAU delivers these commitments through workshops, interactive sessions, national events, green architecture programs, EV demonstrations, and faculty-led sustainability guidance.

This effort aligns with SDG7 by empowering the public to take part in clean-energy transitions and by positioning AAU as a leader in environmental awareness and climate responsibility.
