Open Learning Access (4.3.1)
Introduction:
Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU) is deeply committed to promoting inclusive and equitable access to quality education for all members of society, extending learning opportunities beyond its enrolled students. In alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education), the university actively provides free and open access to educational resources that support lifelong learning and community empowerment.
Through its modern library and digital learning facilities, AAU offers non-students—including researchers, school teachers, and members of the local community—access to reading materials, digital databases, and computer labs without charge. The university’s library operates as an open educational hub that welcomes external visitors for academic and professional development purposes, encouraging knowledge exchange and intellectual growth.
In addition, AAU frequently hosts public lectures, open workshops, and community seminars that are accessible to anyone interested in expanding their knowledge. These events cover a wide range of topics such as sustainability, innovation, mental health, entrepreneurship, and technology. They are often delivered by university professors and industry experts, ensuring that valuable academic content reaches a broader audience beyond campus boundaries.
AAU’s official Sustainability and E-Learning Portals provide open access to a variety of online materials—including e-books, recorded lectures, and awareness campaigns—available to the public at no cost. These platforms are designed to reduce barriers to education and promote the university’s culture of sharing knowledge and supporting self-paced learning.
Furthermore, the university encourages collaborative learning spaces and community partnerships that enhance educational inclusivity and digital literacy across all age groups. By offering these resources and activities openly, Al-Ahliyya Amman University reinforces its role as a regional leader in accessible education and lifelong learning, directly contributing to SDG Target 4.3, which emphasizes equal access for all to affordable and quality education.
