Educational Outreach (4.3.4)
Introduction:
Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU) is deeply committed to expanding the reach of quality education beyond the boundaries of its campus, emphasizing its role as a driver of community empowerment, lifelong learning, and social responsibility. Through a diverse range of educational outreach initiatives, the university continuously engages with schools, communities, and public institutions to deliver training programs, awareness workshops, and student-led volunteer projects that promote knowledge transfer and community well-being.
These outreach activities aim to provide inclusive and equitable learning opportunities to individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and professional levels, supporting the university’s mission to foster an educated, informed, and resilient society. AAU’s initiatives include health awareness campaigns, professional first aid training, environmental education programs, and sustainability awareness projects implemented in partnership with schools, municipalities, care centers, and local organizations.
The university also places special emphasis on voluntary student-led initiatives, encouraging its students to take an active role in teaching, mentoring, and conducting community-based education sessions. These experiences allow students to develop leadership, communication, and civic engagement skills while extending the impact of academic knowledge to benefit society at large.
Through these continuous efforts, AAU affirms its strategic commitment to SDG 4 (Quality Education)—particularly Target 4.3 on access to lifelong learning and Target 4.7 on education for sustainable development—and reinforces its contribution to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through multi-sector collaboration and community-oriented educational outreach.
