Language Center
WELCOME MESSAGE

Prof. Dr. Linda Alkhawaja
Welcome to the Language Center at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, housed within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. We are proud to play an essential role in supporting our students as they pursue their academic degrees across a wide range of disciplines, while also helping them strengthen their proficiency in both Arabic and English. At the Language Center, we provide non-credit remedial courses in Arabic and English language skills. These courses are designed to prepare students for Arabic Communication Skills (1) and English Communication Skills (1), each a three-credit-hour course included in every student’s study plan, regardless of specialization. Our dedicated faculty members design courses with care to meet the needs of both students and members of the wider community, focusing on essential skills such as conversation, writing, reading, listening, and technical writing in English. We also proudly offer Arabic courses for non-native speakers. We are committed to creating a dynamic and supportive learning environment through modern facilities, language laboratories, multimedia resources, and interactive teaching tools, all aimed at ensuring an engaging and effective learning experience. In today’s globalized world, the study of languages has become not only a cultural bridge but also a scientific and professional necessity. For this reason, the Language Center offers courses in additional languages such as Chinese, Spanish, German, and sign language. Our mission is to foster a culturally rich environment that values diversity and promotes mutual understanding across cultures. With the guidance of our experienced instructors, students are encouraged to take full advantage of the resources available, participate in language exchange programs, and engage in cultural activities that enrich both their linguistic abilities and their personal and academic growth. We are delighted to welcome you to the Language Center, and we wish you every success on your journey toward mastering new languages and expanding your horizons.
