Teaching Graduates [Statics] (4.2)

Measuring the number and proportion of graduates who obtained qualifications that entitle them to teach at the primary level, compared to total graduates.

Introduction:

Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU) plays a leading role in preparing qualified educators capable of teaching at the primary level, aligning directly with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and national priorities in developing effective teaching capacities. Through its specialized programs in education, psychology, and early childhood development, the university equips students with the pedagogical knowledge, teaching methodologies, and ethical values essential for nurturing future generations.

AAU’s teacher preparation programs are designed in accordance with the standards of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and follow international best practices in primary education. The curriculum combines theoretical foundations in educational sciences with extensive field training in schools, ensuring that graduates gain both academic proficiency and practical classroom experience.

Each year, a significant proportion of AAU graduates earn qualifications that entitle them to teach at the primary level, particularly from programs such as Education and Psychological SciencesSpecial Education, and Early Childhood Education. These programs emphasize inclusive education, active learning, and digital teaching tools, which are essential for modern classrooms.

In addition to academic training, AAU promotes continuous professional development through workshops, teaching simulations, and collaboration with local schools and educational institutions. The university also integrates sustainability and SDG awareness into teacher training curricula, preparing educators not only to teach but to inspire social responsibility and sustainable thinking in their students.

By consistently monitoring and reporting the number and proportion of teaching-qualified graduates compared to total graduates, AAU demonstrates its measurable impact in advancing educational quality and expanding access to skilled teachers at the foundational level. This evidence underscores the university’s strong contribution to achieving SDG Target 4.c, which aims to substantially increase the supply of qualified teachers through international cooperation and institutional excellence.
