Sustainability Report – SDG16 (16.0)
Introduction:
Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU) upholds its commitment to SDG16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions by fostering transparent governance, enhancing accountability mechanisms, strengthening academic freedom, and promoting the rule of law within and beyond campus. Through a comprehensive framework of policies, procedures, legal collaborations, human-rights initiatives, anti-corruption programs, and stakeholder engagement platforms, AAU ensures that institutional practices align with global standards of integrity and responsible leadership.
During the academic years 2023–2024 and 2024–2025, the university implemented significant reforms supported by new governance procedures, expanded collaboration with national legal bodies, strengthened student participation in decision-making, and broadened access to information through published financial data and academic freedom compliance systems. These annual SDG16 reports document AAU’s progress, achievements, and measurable impact in advancing justice, transparency, and inclusive governance.
