Introduction:

Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU) consistently demonstrates its dedication to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education. Through the publication of its annual Sustainability Reports, the university presents a transparent and detailed account of its educational initiatives, policies, and community engagement activities that aim to enhance learning opportunities, promote inclusiveness, and ensure lifelong learning for all. The reports highlight AAU’s continuous efforts to integrate sustainability principles across academic curricula, research, and institutional governance. They document the university’s progress in providing equitable access to quality education, capacity building for educators, technological integration in teaching, and partnerships for sustainable development. The reports also reflect the university’s leadership in advancing sustainable education practices in Jordan and the region by fostering collaboration between academia, government, and civil society. AAU’s sustainability reporting framework follows international standards and aligns with the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings methodology, ensuring accuracy, comparability, and relevance. Executive Summary:

The Reduced Inequalities – 2024–2025 report presents Al-Ahliyya Amman University’s continued efforts to advance inclusivity, social justice, and equal opportunities for all students, faculty, and staff. Guided by the principles of Sustainable Development Goal 10, the report highlights a comprehensive framework of policies, programs, and partnerships that aim to reduce disparities across gender, income, ability, and nationality. During 2024–2025, the University intensified its commitment to diversity through targeted scholarship programs for disadvantaged and refugee students, inclusive recruitment strategies, and capacity-building initiatives supporting first-generation students and individuals from underrepresented communities.

The report also demonstrates AAU’s ongoing efforts to ensure equitable access to education through financial aid programs, flexible admission policies, and the provision of academic and psychological support services. The University strengthened partnerships with national organizations and ministries to promote social inclusion and youth empowerment, ensuring that all community members have a voice in the decision-making process.

The Reduced Inequalities – 2023–2024 Executive Sustainability Report outlines the foundational initiatives implemented by Al-Ahliyya Amman University to promote equality, accessibility, and inclusion across all academic and administrative dimensions. Throughout this period, the University established core policies on non-discrimination, equal employment, and inclusive education, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 10. The report details actions taken to eliminate barriers that hinder participation of vulnerable groups, including persons with disabilities, first-generation students, and socioeconomically disadvantaged learners.

AAU’s inclusive admission and scholarship policies have expanded opportunities for students from low-income families and refugee backgrounds, reinforcing the University’s role as a driver of social mobility and empowerment. Moreover, the Deanship of Student Affairs and the Sustainability & Global Ranking Center collaborated to implement outreach programs encouraging civic engagement, diversity awareness, and equitable participation in university life.
