Research on health and well-being

Introduction:

Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU) demonstrates a strong and expanding research commitment to advancing SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being through a wide spectrum of scientific studies, publications, and interdisciplinary collaborations. Research on healthcare at AAU encompasses clinical sciences, nursing, pharmacy, biomedical engineering, public health, sports sciences, and digital health innovation, all directed toward improving individual and community well-being.

The university systematically maps its research outputs to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and maintains a continuously updated database of all publications related to health and well-being. Each year, peer-reviewed articles, conference papers, and funded projects addressing major health priorities—such as disease prevention, mental health, nutrition, aging, and medical technology—are identified, indexed, and made publicly accessible through the Sustainability and Global Ranking Center.

AAU’s research strategy emphasizes high-impact outcomes by encouraging multidisciplinary collaboration across faculties and by partnering with hospitals, national ministries, and international organizations. This integrated approach ensures that academic research not only contributes to global scientific advancement but also generates tangible benefits for society through evidence-based practices, innovative healthcare solutions, and community engagement.

Through its continuous focus on quality, relevance, and real-world application, AAU positions itself as a leading institution in the region for advancing research excellence that directly supports the achievement of SDG 3 and complements related goals such as SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
