Measuring the number and proportion of students graduating in health professions and related fields across all disciplines
Health Graduates [Statics] (3.2)
Introduction:
Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU) systematically monitors and reports the number and proportion of students graduating in health-related disciplines as a key indicator of its contribution to SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being. The university’s health education portfolio includes diverse academic programs in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, biomedical sciences, medical laboratory sciences, physical therapy, nutrition, and other allied health professions.
Each year, the Office of the Registrar, in coordination with the Deanship of Scientific Research and the Sustainability & Global Ranking Center, compiles verified graduation data disaggregated by program, degree level. This ensures the accuracy and transparency of all statistics submitted to international rankings and national accreditation bodies.
The metric is calculated according to the Times Higher Education methodology, where the number of graduates in health-related programs is divided by the total number of university graduates for the same academic year to determine the overall proportion of health graduates. These figures reflect AAU’s strategic focus on expanding qualified human resources in the health sector and responding to national and regional workforce needs.
By producing a growing number of professionals in various health fields, AAU directly supports public health development, strengthens healthcare systems, and contributes to achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals—particularly SDG 3, while also reinforcing related goals such as SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
