English Language and Literature (Faculty of Arts and Sciences)
The English Language and Literature program aims to prepare graduates with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in English literature, literary criticism, linguistics, and cultural studies, enabling them to analyze and interpret texts in depth and to communicate effectively in academic and professional contexts. The program is interdisciplinary in nature, combining literary and critical studies, applied linguistics, translation, and cultural and comparative studies, while integrating technology and artificial intelligence in text analysis, language teaching, and the development of research and study skills. The program also emphasizes ethical and professional standards in teaching and learning, and encourages students to engage in cultural and academic activities that enrich their knowledge and skills.
The program aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (4, 8, 10, 17) by promoting intercultural communication and supporting the knowledge economy. It is integrated with Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision 2022–2033 through its contribution to the education and culture sector as part of the knowledge economy, graduating competent professionals qualified to work in diverse educational, cultural, and media sectors.
Graduates are qualified to work in teaching, educational institutions, media and publishing, translation, culture, and the arts, in addition to pursuing postgraduate studies. The program remains up to date and is continuously developed in consultation with stakeholders, ensuring that learning outcomes are achieved through diverse teaching, learning, and assessment methods that meet the requirements of the labor market as well as national, regional, and global needs.

The program is also listed in the National Qualifications Framework.

- Tuition Fees: 85 Jordanian Dinars or 140 US Dollars per credit hour.
