Diploma in Film and Television (Faculty of Technical Education)
The Diploma in Film and Television program aims to prepare professional technicians with practical skills in film and television production, including cinematography, directing, editing, and production management, to meet the needs of the visual media industry locally and regionally. The program is practical and interdisciplinary in nature, combining visual arts, media, digital cinematography, directing, and scriptwriting, while integrating technology and artificial intelligence in video editing, visual effects, sound design, and digital platform management.
The program adheres to ethical and professional standards in media practices and encourages students to engage in practical projects and field training in television channels and production companies. It aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (4, 8, 9) by supporting quality education, fostering economic growth, and promoting innovation in the creative industries. The program is also integrated with Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision 2022–2033, producing qualified professionals capable of supporting the visual media industry and developing creative content.
Graduates are qualified to work as cinematographers, video editors, assistant directors, production technicians, and visual effects designers in television channels, media production companies, and cultural and educational institutions, in addition to the opportunity to continue their studies in relevant bachelor’s degree programs. The program remains up to date and is continuously developed in consultation with stakeholders, ensuring skill development in line with the requirements of the local and regional labor market.
- Quality and Accreditation: The program and the university are accredited and hold a Quality Certificate from the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions, in addition to the ISO 9001 international certificate. The program is also listed in the National Qualifications Framework.
- Total Credit Hours: 80 credit hours.
- Tuition Fees: 100 Jordanian Dinars or 150 US Dollars per credit hour.
- Scholarships and Discounts: Available for academically, artistically, and athletically outstanding students; students from low-income backgrounds; students from less privileged areas and the local community; and international students, particularly from developing countries.
- Practical Training and Community Service: Included as core graduation requirements.
