Since 2020, Dr. Ali Al-Samydai has empowered over 600 students through mentorship, competitions, and leadership-building programs. That same year, he guided over 25 students to present at major international conferences, expanding their global academic exposure. His mentorship enabled students to win prestigious opportunities, including the Japanese Government Scholarship and admission to top graduate programs abroad. Beyond academics, he championed holistic development through entrepreneurship workshops, football tournaments, and cultural events. His Telegram job channel, launched in 2021, connects pharmacy graduates in Jordan and Iraq to career opportunities. Known affectionately as “Professor X,” Dr. Al-Samydai helps students overcome barriers like language and low confidence, inspiring them with his motto: “You are different.” He now aims to support 1,000 students in securing impactful careers and pioneering research.

Achievement

Since the start of his academic career, Dr. Ali Al-Samydai has been dedicated to discovering and nurturing talents. Through self-orientation programs, internal competitions, and teamwork initiatives, he helped more than 600 students build scientific skills, leadership, and confidence between 2020 and 2025. His approach has created lasting foundations for academic and professional success.

In 2024, Dr. Al-Samydai guided over 25 students to present at major international events, including the 3rd International Conference on Plant Biodiversity and Sustainability, the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program, the 2nd Joint Webinar of ACAMC & LDDD, the International Conference of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan, and the Green Chemistry and Sustainability Training Conference at the Royal Scientific Society. These experiences provided students with critical global exposure and significantly enhanced their academic profiles.

Dr. Al-Samydai also founded the Pharmacy Student Research Club in 2021, impacting 411 students through workshops and projects. Under his mentorship, six research articles with undergraduate students and graduated students were published, including two in Scopus Q1/Q2 journals in 2024 — an extraordinary achievement at the undergraduate level.

His mentorship opened major opportunities for students beyond academia. He supported Hassan Ihsan in winning the prestigious Japanese Government Scholarship (2023/2024) and helped Shams Al-Hayali gain acceptance into a leading Master’s program in the UK 2024. Additionally, the Telegram job channel he created in 2021 continues to connect hundreds of pharmacy graduates in Jordan and Iraq to career opportunities.

Dr. Al-Samydai’s leadership also translated into extracurricular success. He coached students who achieved a runner-up position in the AAU University Football Academic Competition in 2024 and supported Tabark Al-Sammarai, who won the Best Talk award at an international conference in Iraq. His mentorship emphasized a balanced development of academic, social, and professional skills.

Believing in the importance of psychological, social, and economic readiness, he organized motivational sessions to boost resilience, entrepreneurship workshops to enhance adaptability, and social gatherings such as football games and cultural events featuring traditional Iraqi foods. His motto, “You are different,” continuously inspired students to recognize their unique strengths.

Looking forward, Dr. Al-Samydai aims to help 1,000 students secure impactful jobs, support alumni in establishing pharmaceutical factories, and contribute to discovering innovative cancer therapies through student-led research. His future plans demonstrate an enduring commitment to empowering future generations.

He also addressed significant challenges faced by his students, including English language barriers, low self-confidence compared to international peers, and the undervaluation of Arab researchers globally. Through his persistent support, students overcame these barriers and succeeded internationally.

Students affectionately call him “Professor X,” a tribute to his extraordinary ability to see and nurture hidden potential. As they often say, “Dr. Ali dreams not just for himself, but for all of us — that we will be tomorrow’s leaders and innovators.”
