Policy protecting all university members from any form of harassment, with documented creation and review dates.
Anti-Harassment Policy (10.6.11)
Introduction:
Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU) implements the Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy (PS 45, SDG10/4) as part of its institutional commitment to ensuring a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all members of its community. The policy, first issued in 2018 and revised in 2025 (Version 05), applies to all students, faculty members, administrative staff, and visitors, and is reviewed annually under the supervision of the Strategies and Policies Committee and the Institutional Development Department.
The policy aims to protect individuals’ rights in a harassment-free environment, promote equality and mutual respect, and encourage transparent and confidential reporting of any unacceptable behavior. It establishes clear procedures for filing, investigating, and addressing complaints, ensuring fairness, accountability, and confidentiality throughout the process.
The university enforces a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of harassment — including verbal, physical, sexual, psychological, and digital harassment — and guarantees the right of all community members to learn and work without fear, coercion, or discrimination.
In alignment with international human rights standards and Jordanian higher education regulations, the policy also mandates annual awareness programs, anti-harassment workshops, and mandatory staff training to promote positive behavior, respect for diversity, and inclusive professional ethics across all university units.
Through this comprehensive policy framework, AAU reaffirms its role as a model of ethical governance and inclusivity, ensuring that dignity, equality, and respect are at the heart of its academic and social mission.
