Cyber Security Center for Association of Arab Universities
Welcome Message
I extend to you the warmest welcome to the official website of the Cybersecurity Center under the Association of Arab Universities. Through this platform, academics and researchers from various Arab universities can coordinate, collaborate, and exchange expertise and skills in the field of cybersecurity. Cybersecurity is a means of protecting software, computer devices, and networks. It encompasses a set of measures taken to counter cyberattacks and breaches and the risks that result from them. The term "cybersecurity" emerged at the beginning of the Cold War and evolved with the advent of the internet and computer systems. Thus, the future of cybersecurity goes far beyond data and information protection, reaching the level of securing society's defense lines against cyber threats. While cooperation in the field of cybersecurity holds an important place in official Arab discourse, it has never practically included the concept of the academic cyberspace. Most collaborative policies have been government-oriented, with a noticeable absence of private initiatives within the academic sphere. Therefore, this field must receive serious and official attention at the Arab level through coordinated cooperation among academics, researchers, and students in the field of cybersecurity. This can be achieved through a cybersecurity center operating under the umbrella of the Association of Arab Universities, contributing to the advancement of higher education and scientific research. The goal is to create a secure, interactive Arab cyberspace that steadily moves towards global prominence in both quality and scope—especially in light of the information, digital technology, artificial intelligence revolutions, advanced software, and big data. These developments require us to respond proactively, keep pace with them, and exchange knowledge and expertise to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development goals for our universities.
